Teaching Head of Year

The Priory CE School in Dorking is seeking to appoint a teaching Head of Year. The successful candidate will be an experienced member of the teaching profession with a successful track record of high standards, being able to demonstrate that their students have made excellent progress. This postholder will:

  • Facilitate the leadership of a year group, managing a team of five form tutors and leading a year group of 150 students
  • Promote and adhere to school policies regarding behaviour for learning, standards of uniform, punctuality and attendance
  • Work with a range of support staff in order to sustain high standards and make further improvements
  • Work within a team of teaching Heads of Year to ensure consistent approaches across the year groups and to share good practice
  • To celebrate and reward outstanding contributions to the school and beyond its gates
  • To monitor the progress of all students through the analysis of a range of data, working with Heads of Department and Subject Leaders as appropriate in order to ensure all students make appropriate levels of progress.

At The Priory School, our Christian distinctiveness is embodied in our core values of Wisdom, Dignity, Hope and Community, and a Head of Year promotes and propagates these through assemblies and year group activities. The PSHCE programme is under review for September 2019 and contributions to this would be valued.

Hours of Work – flexible during exam seasons

Salary: Hourly rate £ 9.42

We require enthusiastic, self-motivated Exam Invigilators to join our staff group.  The post would involve working as part of a team during the various exam seasons to support students, including those with special needs. No experience necessary as full training will be given.  We are looking for people who are able to work in what can be a stressful environment with a great deal of calm and empathy. The role involves standing for long periods and carrying bulky exam papers to and from allocated rooms.

Salary Grade PS3

We are seeking enthusiastic, well-motivated and capable people to join our existing SEN Team.

You will be supporting the educational, social and physical needs of students throughout the school, including those with special educational needs and possibly requiring behavioural support; enabling them to fully access the curriculum and integrate within the school. The successful candidate will be a highly positive, patient and resilient person who is committed to the school’s ethos and will be able to support teaching and learning under the direction of a teacher or HLTA. Experience is preferred but not essential.

The post is for a fixed term of one year in the first instance and working hours 30 hours a week but will consider flexible part time, for 39 weeks per year (term time only).

The salary is PS3, £17,316 – £18,242 FTE the pro rata salary is £12,301 – £12,959 based on 30 hours per week.

Salary Grade SP6 = £10.99 per hour

We are looking for cover supervisors who will be on zero hours contract and be able to work at short notice, on part or full days, to supervise whole classes during the short term absence of teachers to provide continuity of student learning, maintain good order and facilitate students’ progress.

(Please note – Cover Supervisors are not expected to teach, but supervise students who have been set work by a teacher)
